Rejection

Is it the hardest thing thats ever happened to me? well no..not really..but its hard to accept the fact that you arent good enough. There's a constant feeling in the back of my mind that I'm not. But then there's another voice that says wait for the rest of your replies..but I prefer not to think about it..prefer to be in a little cloud of false hope.
False..being the key word here. What bothers me te most is that I didnt cut it. Like in so many other things in life. I didnt make it and it sucks..thats all!

I take rejection as someone blowing a bugle in my ear to wake me up and get going, rather than retreat.

There are many more colleges and acceptance letters. Don't let one rejection make you think you're not “good enough”.

We keep going back, stronger, not weaker, because we will not allow rejection to beat us down. It will only strengthen our resolve. To be successful there is no other way.

This life is crooked and confusing. But in time, you might just realise how this could change your life forever. Maybe this wasn't the right place for you.. i don't really believe in destiny because I believe (or atleast want to believe) that we, as individuals, are the controllers of our own fate and nothing is predestined. But there are certain things that pop-up and always lead you down the right path. It could take years to realise, and if you're lucky, it could happen sooner. One of my bro's friends.. who was simply brilliant in every respect tried for IIM (after getting one of the nation's highest in the practice CAT test) and he dint manage to get 60% english marks in the real test! Obviously, it hurt his self-esteem and his confidence and he really felt dejected for a while, but it was so very evident that getting his MBA wasn't the right thing for him at this point. instead, he is opting to do his masters now and get an MBA after that..
stupid analogy, i know.. but i just want you to know that you shouldn't let this affect your self-esteem.. maybe this college wouldnt be the one that would get you somewhere.. there are MANY others out there, so dont fret.
Take the situation as a 100meter hurdle race.. you trip over the 1st hurdle.. its okay.. dont let that destroy you. go for everythin else you've got and you'll clear the rest. =)

wat if u keep tripping..and cant get up..sorry for the negativity..but thats my situation right now.

Well, then that reminds me of my 100m hurdle race on Sishya Sports Day 2001. I tripped right over the first one. And that hurts. So I lost half my energy by then. I tripped over the next one too, and the next, and the next. I was actually bleeding.. that's how bad it was. But I knew I had to finish the race so that I could get that one point for my team. If I dropped out, I would've lost the point.
Don't lose the point Ria. The hurdles are the obstacles. It's completing the race that's the real challenge. And I know that you WILL complete the race.

everyone feels, at some point, that everything is falling apart.

the biggest mistake anyone could ever make is to dwell on failure.

look ahead, and you'll have everything you need to know.
